Biography:

I have worked in the disability field since my teens, and I have experience in a variety of different settings. I started out as a Support Worker in Victoria whilst I was completing my bachelor's degree and graduate diploma, in what we now know as Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments, as well as providing 1:1 support in community, and facilitating holidays for people with disabilities around Australia and beyond. After some time as a House Supervisor in Alice Springs, I returned to Victoria as a Rehabilitation Consultant, then moved into the Supported Employment Space, followed by Support Coordination. As I commenced my master's degree I transitioned into the Positive Behaviour Support space, where I have the honour of sharing my long history of learning and putting my skills into practice, and in 2025 I had the opportunity to transfer to Queensland within my role at OCA.

On a personal note, I have a large family, and we all have neurodivergent diagnoses. Some of my children are also NDIS participants, so I have knowledge of the system from both perspectives. Autism is my area of special interest, and I have strong values around providing a person-centred approach which recognises the participant and their key supports as the experts, with the goal to support the participant to achieve self-determination.
